Digital Media

For the first article “How Internet Marketing will affect various industries in 2015” I do agree that social media is the most effective way to build your brand and get it out there amongst the masses. For example “Check out my channel Mr Orchard Beach on Youtube and hit that subscribe button!” No but seriously if you have a business but no visible presence on social media you might as well be sabotaging it! I also agree that the real estate industry should use targeted marketing as well because gone are the days of people driving around the neighborhood looking for a for sale sign.

In the Viral Marketing For The Real World reading, I found the whole marketing to scheme to be interesting. It’s pretty much giving the consumer the ability to share marketting adds just like they share content on the web that they like and feel like their friends or family would also take a common interest in. I can also see this as a bad thing because you may have friends that like to tag you in everything and then all of a sudden you are exposed to extra ads that you don’t even use or wish to see.

The last article I read was; “5 Key Viral Marketing Tactics Proven to Work” It was very informative and eye opening. Especially when the article shed light on the topic of “How Viral Campaigns Fail” In a campaign, you want it to go viral in a good way but you don’t want to accidentally  or neglectfully create a slogan that could be taken the wrong way. Instead of the campaign going in the direction you want it to go in, one word that could be taken out of context and now you campaign has reached heights of popularity that you did not intend for.

Professor, I totally forgot to post this on thursday night but I do have a screen shot on my iPhone showing that this was complete on 3/31

  1. Good point, social media controls everything online at this stage. What are some options to avoid using it?
